W2W FAST 2026 – DAY 1 – THANKSGIVING

PRAYER OF GRATITUDE FOR GOD’S GOODNESS

WHY WE PRAY IN THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving is our way of pausing to acknowledge that God has been our Keeper. As we stand in 2026, we recognise that we are here only because God’s grace preserved us, strengthened us, and carried us through each season. Some moments were joyful and fulfilling; others were stretching, difficult, or uncertain — yet even there, God was present, gently working maturity, resilience, and growth in us. We give thanks not only for the victories we can see, but also for the battles He fought on our behalf. Thanksgiving reminds us that our lives are held in His hands, and that every season has been sustained by His faithfulness.

PRAYER POINTS

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee.” — Isaiah 43:2 (KJV)
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.” — Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

PRAYER

Father, we come before You with grateful hearts. Thank You for life, for strength, and for the blessing of being here in this moment. Thank You for the seasons that brought joy and the seasons that built resilience. Thank You for the victories we celebrated and the quiet deliverances we may never fully see or understand. Through every experience, You have kept us, guided us, and carried us. Today we return to say THANK YOU. We trust Your hand over our future, and we choose gratitude, peace, and confidence in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

REFLECTION

* Where do you recognise God’s preserving grace in your journey?
* How have challenging seasons shaped your faith, perspective, or maturity?

This week, choose gratitude over worry and thanksgiving over self-reliance.
