W2W FAST 2026: DAY 17 – DIRECTION FOR NOW & THE FUTURE

We pray for direction because life is lived in seasons, and each season requires clarity, discernment, and obedience. Direction is not merely about knowing what to do next, but about understanding what God is saying now, where He is leading forward, and having the courage to follow Him fully.

There are moments when the weight of decisions, responsibilities, and expectations can create a sense of overwhelm. In such seasons, God invites us to pause, listen, realign, and receive divine clarity. Through prayer, we ask God to quiet every noise, remove confusion, and order our steps according to His will.

As we seek Him during this fast, we trust God to give us wisdom for today, vision for tomorrow, and the grace to walk boldly in the direction He reveals.

PRAYER POINTS

  1. Wisdom and Discernment to Identify and Remove Overwhelming Pressures

Ask God for wisdom and spiritual discernment to identify the sources of overwhelm, distraction, and emotional pressure, and for grace to remove or rightly manage them.

Scriptures:
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5 (KJV)
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

  1. Clarity and Vision for the Path Ahead

Ask God to remove confusion, sharpen spiritual sight, and grant clear vision concerning decisions, assignments, and next steps.

Scriptures:
“And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight.” Isaiah 42:16 (KJV)
“And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV)
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23 (KJV)
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)

  1. Hearing God Clearly for This Present Season

Ask God to speak specifically and clearly concerning what He requires of you right now in the present.

Scriptures:
“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalm 32:8 (KJV)
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27 (KJV)
“The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” Psalm 25:14 (KJV)

  1. Alignment With God’s Will for the Now and the Future

Ask God to align your heart, desires, plans, and decisions with His will so that your present actions support His future purpose.

Scriptures:
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)
“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.” Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

  1. Courage to Obey and Implement the Direction Given

Ask God for boldness, confidence, and grace to act on the direction He reveals, even when it feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar.

Scriptures:
“And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might,…. have not I sent thee?” Judges 6:14 (KJV)
“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” Colossians 3:23 (KJV)

PRAYER

Father, we thank You because You are the God who leads, guides, and orders our steps. We ask for wisdom and discernment to identify every source of overwhelm and confusion in our lives. Grant us clarity of mind, peace of heart, and rest in our spirits.

Speak to us clearly in this season. Help us to hear Your voice above every distraction and align our lives with Your will for now and for the future. Where decisions must be made, grant us understanding. Where action is required, grant us courage.

Strengthen us to obey fully and implement every instruction You give, trusting that Your direction leads to life, peace, and purpose. We commit our paths into Your hands and choose to follow You faithfully.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

REFLECTION

• What areas of my life currently feel overwhelming, and why
• What is God saying to me specifically for this season
• What distractions or pressures do I need to release
• What step of obedience is God asking me to take next

Today, choose stillness over haste, obedience over comfort, and alignment over assumption, as you follow God’s direction for now and for the future.

One Response

  1. Dear Pst Ifeanyi,
I thank God for His grace upon your life and for the way He has used you to inspire so many of us. This is my first truly significant fasting experience, and it has been nothing short of phenomenal. I have been born again for almost 30 years, yet I always found reasons to avoid fasting, rationalising it every time. But in His mercy, God has shifted this trajectory in my life.
I made up my mind to journey with you on this year’s 21‑day fast, and it has been the most rejuvenating, exciting, and transformative experience for me. Two days ago, my daughter said, “Mummy, you have changed o.” Truly, something has shifted.
The lines you will read below capture what the Lord has been speaking to me in this season. It has been consistent across every platform of my learning, devotion, and spiritual reflection.

Always long for more of me.
There are many who are content with so little when I have so much more to give to them. Because you have longed for all that I have, you will have it all. Your desire for me has captured my heart, beloved. And now, you will see me do more for you in this season than you ever experienced before. Because you love me, I will pour out my heart into you and merge you with my glory.
You were created for all of me. You are a carrier of my glory, destined to experience my presence in new and unprecedented ways as you press in for more. You can have as much of me as you desire. Just come close, day after day. Believe in my desire to bless you. Revel in the tangible awareness of my presence, and realize that there is always more—always deeper encounters for you to enjoy, always beautiful discoveries for me to unveil. Your hunger for greater intimacy with me is pleasing to me. You shall have it!
Jer 33:3 Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.
Is 60:17 Instead of bronze I will bring you gold; I will bring silver in place of iron, bronze instead of wood, and iron instead of stones. I will appoint peace as your governor and righteousness as your ruler.

Thank you Pastor Ifeanyi for answering the call to stewardship. This fast, this journey, this awakening – is all for me.
